HR Manager – Luxury Retail, Hong Kong

About the role

A leading luxury brand, global manufacturer and distributor of fashion, accessories and leather goods, is looking for an HR Manager based in Hong Kong through its recruitment partner. The role covers the Hong Kong market and manages a team of three people, reporting to the General Manager of Hong Kong with a dotted line to the Vice President, Human Resources, North Asia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all HR functions in Hong Kong: talent acquisition, people development, employee relations and compensation and benefits
• Recruitment and mobility: carry out interviews at all levels, build relationships with executive search and recruitment agencies, and coordinate and improve group-wide mobility
• Learning and development: help identify development needs and develop and monitor staff development plans
• Performance management: monitor appraisals, review problem employees and devise correction strategies
• Planning and budgeting: prepare headcount schedules and salary forecasts, formulate the organisation plan and structure, and develop individual career plans
• Approvals: approve HR invoices, payroll schedules, salary and benefits, and statutory and corporate reports
• Labor relations: handle legal requirements arising from labour disputes, such as court appearances
• Coaching, counselling and integration of new staff
• Develop and implement HR programmes supporting the Hong Kong retail team and the local HR team

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar capacity with multinational firms
• Solid HR experience, preferably in a retail environment
• Result-oriented, detail-conscious, patient and assertive; able to work under pressure
• Creative, able to propose new ideas and challenge ways of working for greater efficiency
• Diplomatic communication skills
• Fluent in English and Cantonese
