Legal Counsel, Financial Services

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to support corporate trustee, pension and fiduciary services for a leading financial services institution. The role involves providing commercial and regulatory legal advice across a broad range of regulated products.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts, transaction documents and legal agreements.
• Advise on investment products, trust structures and other regulated business activities.
• Partner with business teams to identify and manage legal risks and support strategic initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory developments and deliver practical guidance to stakeholders.
• Improve legal processes, templates and governance frameworks.
• Liaise with external counsel, regulators and industry stakeholders as required.
• Support corporate governance, due diligence and other business‑critical projects.

Required profile

• 2‑6 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in financial services, corporate trust, pensions or investment sectors.
• Experience in commercial contracts, corporate advisory and legal risk management.
• Prior team leadership or stakeholder management experience is desirable.
• Strong drafting, communication and presentation abilities.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin; Hong Kong qualified lawyer preferred.
