Maintenance Manager

About the role

Oscar Bioenergy Joint Venture, a subsidiary of Veolia Hong Kong & Macau, runs O.PARK1, Hong Kong's first large-scale food waste recycling facility that turns 73,000 tonnes of food waste annually into renewable energy and compost. It is looking for a Maintenance Manager based in Siu Ho Wan, North Lantau, to lead the maintenance function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the maintenance function, including the in-house team, contract staff and contractors, while following legislation and site procedures, and train, supervise and evaluate team performance.
• Review plant defects and oversee maintenance systems, stores management, H&S procedures and computerized maintenance management systems to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Plan and manage maintenance outages, including work specifications, quality control and coordination between parties.
• Prepare maintenance budget proposals and manage spending within approved budgets.
• Liaise with project and operations staff so maintenance supports overall business needs.

Required profile

• A practical engineer with at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory maintenance role in a process industry (chemical, waste treatment/incineration, pulp and paper, petrochemical, power generation or marine).
• Experience managing a maintenance budget and planned maintenance system, and writing and implementing procedures and directives.
• Analytical, problem-solving engineer with good communication and organizational skills, able to manage and motivate the team and contractors.
• Ability to communicate in English and Cantonese and/or Mandarin.

Required skills

• Experience setting up and using a CMMS and predictive maintenance equipment such as vibration monitoring and thermal imaging.
