Python Developer – Trading Systems (Hong Kong)

About the role

Our client, a top‑tier global trading firm, is seeking Python developers to join their expanding team in Hong Kong. You will work closely with quantitative analysts, traders and data scientists to enhance trading systems and data analysis capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient trading algorithms and quantitative models.
• Collaborate with quantitative researchers to implement and optimise trading strategies.
• Perform quantitative analysis and back‑testing of strategies using Python and related tools.
• Design and implement data pipelines for real‑time and historical data processing.
• Analyse large datasets to derive insights and improve trading performance.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability through documentation and testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or a related field.
• At least 1 + year of software development experience in financial services.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy.
• Experience with SQL and database management.
• Familiarity with C++ or C# (a plus).
• Knowledge of machine‑learning techniques and frameworks.
• Understanding of cloud computing and big‑data technologies (e.g., AWS, Hadoop).
