Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/E&M)

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries and majority-owned by CBRE Group, is hiring a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor (MEP/E&M) in Hong Kong. The role covers cost management, procurement and value engineering on projects, with a preference for candidates with MEP background.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and write procurement reports
• Apply Value Management techniques early in a project and involve the specialist Value Management team when appropriate
• Manage estimating and cost planning, including presenting the final cost plan
• Manage the procurement process, from pre-qualification and enquiry through to selection and contract preparation
• Ensure post-contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation are managed effectively
• Produce monthly post-contract cost reports for the client
• Handle value engineering and life cycle costing
• Negotiate and agree final accounts
• Lead the interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Engineering, Building Services or equivalent
• 5 to 10 years of experience in related fields
• MEP quantity surveying experience is preferred
• Team player with leadership and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, influence and persuasion skills
