Regulatory Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join our Regulatory Affairs team in Hong Kong. Reporting to the APAC Head of Compliance and working closely with the Chief Regulatory Counsel in the US, you will support Susquehanna’s trading and market‑structure activities across the APAC region.

Key responsibilities

• Advise business units on securities, derivatives and futures regulatory requirements in APAC jurisdictions, including ASIC, SFC, MAS, FSC/FSS, FSA and SEBI.
• Monitor emerging regulations, assess business impact and coordinate implementation of compliance frameworks.
• Draft and maintain supervisory procedures, policies and other regulatory documentation tailored to APAC rules.
• Coordinate and respond to regulatory examinations, inquiries and data requests from APAC regulators.
• Represent Susquehanna in interviews, examinations and informal inquiries, and prepare staff for testimony.
• Liaise with outside counsel and industry bodies such as ASIC, SFC and relevant associations.
• Collaborate with the global Regulatory Affairs team to ensure consistent firm‑wide policies.

Required profile

• At least 8 years of experience providing regulatory or compliance guidance on trading and market‑structure matters.
• Direct exposure to one or more major APAC regulators (e.g., ASIC, SFC, MAS).
• Deep knowledge of APAC securities and derivatives frameworks, market‑integrity rules, short‑selling regimes, reporting obligations and licensing requirements.
• Experience managing multi‑jurisdictional regulatory projects and working with global compliance teams.
• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree.
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
