Senior Quantity Surveyor - Infrastructure Waste Landfill Projects

About the role

Veolia Hong Kong Holding Limited, part of the Veolia Group, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Tuen Mun. The post covers day-to-day quantity surveying and commercial functions for large waste landfill infrastructure projects, manages and supervises a Project Surveyor and reports to the Commercial Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Work independently on daily quantity surveying and commercial tasks, supervising the Project Surveyor
• Prepare main contracts, value Employer's Change Orders, and prepare contract budgets and cost forecasts
• Prepare, analyse and administer subcontract tenders in line with company procedures
• Assess and negotiate subcontractors' variations, interim payments, claims and final accounts
• Liaise with the Engineering, Site and Procurement teams on variation and claim issues for the Commercial Manager's correspondence
• Carry out other ad hoc commercial tasks and prepare weekly and monthly reports

Required profile

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Commercial Management
• At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure projects with a Main Contractor
• Construction Safety (Green Card) training
• Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese
• Willingness to work across the company's different offices as required

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and PowerPoint; Google applications
• Advantageous: knowledge of cost accounting and procurement software, experience with Hong Kong GCC and NEC4 Target Cost contracts, AutoCAD and Primavera P6
• RICS / HKIS / CICES membership is an advantage but not essential
