Senior Quantity Surveyor - Private Sector

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries, is hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Hong Kong. The role manages the core cost management services for construction projects, ensuring cost control and quality objectives are met while meeting client objectives through an effective cost management service.

Key responsibilities

• Support and coordinate projects, with in-depth knowledge of pre-contract and post-contract cost management
• Estimate, carry out rate analysis and cost planning, and present final cost plans to clients
• Handle tendering and procurement: pre-qualification, tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report and contractual documents
• Manage post-contract cost variances and support change control, referring major changes to the reporting manager
• Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and support their presentation to the client
• Contribute to Value Engineering exercises and interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages
• Improve cost management procedures, templates and products, and feed lessons learned into the company's internal database

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
• At least 5 years' experience in cost management or construction projects (quantity surveyor, cost manager, construction manager, procurement, project manager, consultant etc.)
• Cantonese at native level and business-level English
• Proficiency in Cost-X or equivalent cost estimation software
• MHKIS chartered status preferred; more experienced candidates will be considered for the Senior position
