Senior Vice President, Corporate Sales – Japanese Corporates (GTB)

About the role

As Senior Vice President, Corporate Sales for Japanese corporates in Global Transaction Banking, you will act as an individual contributor responsible for originating deals, developing and managing a portfolio of Japanese corporate clients across Asia Pacific. You will also serve as the GTB Japanese Corporates Champion in the region, driving strategic planning, cross‑border collaboration and business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Advise Santander’s strategic Japanese corporate clients on GTB solutions, leveraging deep market knowledge to originate opportunities aligned with GTB Asia’s strategy.
• Build and manage a robust portfolio of Japanese corporates, focusing on client activation, product penetration, relationship development and revenue up‑tiering.
• Provide expertise in key Japanese industries such as technology data centres, renewable energy, automotive, commodities and natural resources.
• Originate and execute mega‑deals, offering integrated GTB solutions including lending, documentary trade, working capital, structured trade, cash deposits and ECA‑backed financing.
• Lead strategic business planning for the Japanese corporate portfolio across APAC and coordinate commercial activities with corporate sales teams in other countries.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (relationship managers, risk, product specialists) to ensure timely revenue generation.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in GTB or related fields with a proven track record managing major Japanese corporate clients and direct access to decision‑makers in Japan and APAC.
• Comprehensive understanding of GTB products, especially trade and cash, with experience in structured trade and ECA‑backed financing preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, fluent in English and Japanese (written and spoken).
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities.
