Software Engineer / Assistant Engineer – Data & Applications

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer (or Assistant Software Engineer) to develop the software layer for our Smart Infrastructure solutions. You will start by building reporting and data‑analysis tools that transform raw equipment data into actionable insights for clients in Hong Kong and Macau, and later expand these tools into full client‑facing applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop on‑premise and cloud user applications to support business development and sales activities in the HK and Macau markets.
• Assist the Sales Manager in creating Smart Power Distribution and Smart Grid solutions, including automated reporting and data‑analysis tools.
• Execute pilot projects such as Energy Monitoring, Asset Condition & Performance Management, Microgrid, Renewable Integration and BESS.
• Provide technical and project support to clients, including troubleshooting, software configuration, PLC programming, patch deployment and system integration testing.
• Perform site testing, commissioning and service support.
• Manage project documentation and technical drawings in line with ISO, safety, health, environmental and quality standards.
• Support sales enquiries, tender preparation and variation management in collaboration with Sales/Project Managers.

Required profile

• Degree holder in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in an engineering or IT role with hands‑on software development.
• Experience in front‑end or back‑end web development is a plus; candidates with less experience may be considered for the Assistant level.
• Knowledge of the power industry, industrial IoT, PLC systems, protection & control systems or secondary equipment testing is advantageous.
