Space Planner / Draftsman

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company working with clients in real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, is hiring a Space Planner/Draftsman in Hong Kong. The role combines creativity, strategic thinking and technical expertise to turn physical spaces into functional and aesthetically pleasing environments, working with architects, interior designers, corporate teams and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed space plans and layouts
• Collaborate with architects, designers and clients to understand project requirements
• Conduct site assessments to gather measurements and data
• Create 3D models and visualizations to present design concepts
• Prepare and present detailed design proposals to stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations
• Optimize space usage for maximum efficiency and functionality
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors during implementation and monitor project progress
• Evaluate post-occupancy feedback and analyze space utilization data to improve future designs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture or a related field
• 2 to 5 years of experience in drafting, design, space planning and test-fits
• Previous experience in commercial or residential space planning, or proven experience as a Space Planner or similar role
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team

Required skills

• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and SketchUp
• Understanding of building codes and regulations
• Project management and coordination experience
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and familiarity with safety standards
