Vice President, Account Management – Global Financial Institutions

About the role

The Vice President, Account Management – Global Financial Institutions leads Mastercard’s partnership with one of its largest global financial institution clients. Reporting to the SVP, Global Financial Institutions, the role is responsible for driving revenue growth, strategic alignment and long‑term value creation across issuing, emerging payment flows and new product platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the regional account strategy to increase revenue, market share and profitability.
• Identify and scale strategic opportunities across issuing, emerging payment flows, new products and platforms.
• Manage senior‑level engagement with regional stakeholders, positioning Mastercard as a strategic partner.
• Deliver against revenue, volume and P&L targets and own the account’s financial performance.
• Lead complex RFP, pricing and contract negotiations, including renewals and retention strategies.
• Coordinate integrated sales and business‑development plans with product, marketing and regional teams.
• Ensure high client satisfaction across products, services, innovation and relationship management.
• Lead, develop and mentor a diverse, globally distributed account team.
• Orchestrate cross‑functional alignment across sales, product, technology, legal, compliance, risk and operations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in the global payments, financial services or fintech ecosystem.
• Proven ability to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Demonstrated track record of leading complex, cross‑functional deal processes end‑to‑end.
• Strong strategic, conceptual and financial acumen with a history of delivering sustained growth.
• Exceptional executive communication skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Data‑driven problem‑solver with solid project‑management discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred.
