Vice President, Financial Control - Accounting Section, Hong Kong

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Vice President for its Financial Control Department, Accounting Section in Hong Kong. The role covers profit tax compliance, financial reporting, variance analysis and support of internal and external audits.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate profit tax in line with Hong Kong tax regulations and ensure timely, accurate filing of profit tax returns.
• Provide advisory support to business units on withholding tax, corporate income tax, bookkeeping and tax treaties.
• Stay up to date with accounting standards and tax regulations, analyse their impact and develop compliance action plans.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for head office and conduct variance analysis.
• Own the month-end and year-end closing process to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Ensure all accounting and tax operations follow internal policies, procedures and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of related experience in a financial institution.
• Ability to work independently, with attention to detail and adherence to strict rules, standards and deadlines.
• Self-motivated.

Required skills

• Knowledge of accounting standards such as IFRS and tax regulations.
• Strong analytical skills for report preparation and variance analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
