Waiter – The Eighth Happy Bar

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Waiter to join the team at The Eighth Happy Bar in Happy Valley, Hong Kong. You will greet members and their guests, provide attentive service, and help create a welcoming dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and seat members and guests with a positive, upbeat demeanor.
• Offer refreshments, present menus and drink lists, and discuss cooking preferences.
• Provide detailed information on portions, ingredients, and potential allergens.
• Inform customers about daily specials and recommend menu items.
• Upsell additional products when appropriate and take accurate food and beverage orders.
• Check identification for alcohol service and ensure legal age compliance.
• Communicate orders to the kitchen, expedite when needed, and verify order accuracy.
• Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring hot items remain hot and cold items stay cold.
• Check customer satisfaction, address any issues politely and professionally.
• Replenish drinks, take additional orders, and maintain table settings.
• Set, clear, and reset tables with appropriate tableware, decorations, and condiments.
• Prepare mise en place and keep the workstation tidy, clean, and safe.
• Maintain side‑station stock levels and ensure tableware cleanliness.
• Check bill accuracy and present it to members upon request.

Required profile

• At least one year of relevant restaurant experience in hotels, clubs or restaurants.
• Good communication skills in English and Chinese; basic Mandarin knowledge is a plus.
• Friendly, upbeat attitude with the ability to build quick rapport with guests.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Required skills

• Fluent English.
• Fluent Chinese (Cantonese).
• Basic Mandarin proficiency.
