Staff/Senior Accountant – Tax Global Compliance & Reporting (Hong Kong)

About the role

EY is seeking a motivated Staff or Senior Accountant to join its Tax Global Compliance & Reporting team in Hong Kong. You will support clients with bookkeeping, statutory reporting and tax compliance, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and timely service.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in daily bookkeeping, accounting and compliance reporting engagements.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, vouchers and supporting schedules.
• Meet all deadlines set by managers and senior staff.
• Maintain effective teamwork, communication and timely updates to senior members.
• Archive engagement reports and correspondence in line with firm policies.
• Develop and sustain productive relationships with clients and internal service lines.
• Respond to client requests promptly and manage expectations on deliverables.
• Review junior staff work, provide guidance, coaching and mentorship.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification (HKICPA, AICPA, CICPA) or progress towards one.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in a Big 4, large CPA firm, consulting firm or multinational corporation.
• Good knowledge of PRC GAAP, IFRS and/or US GAAP.
• Strong command of English and fluent Mandarin.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end closing, account reconciliation and tax compliance.
• Excellent organizational, multi‑tasking and time‑management abilities.
• Positive attitude, strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.

Required skills

• MS Office and MS Excel proficiency.
• Experience with integrated ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle or similar).
• Understanding of PRC GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP.
• Month‑end closing processes.
• Account reconciliation.
• Tax compliance procedures.
