Accountant – Vessel Accounting

About the role
To assist in the daily operation of vessel accounting, including accounts receivable/payable, monitoring, inter‑company fund transfers and preparation of full set accounts.
Key responsibilities
- Handle vessel accounting and portage bill accounting.
- Raise fund requests to owners and monitor receipts.
- Prepare complete vessel reports with supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with other functions to ensure timely report completion.
- Scrutinise vessel reports and respond to owner queries.
- Reconcile inter‑company vessel balances.
- Provide MIS data related to vessel reports to supervisors or head office.
- Support ad‑hoc finance and accounts assignments and assist in SOX audits.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of solid accounting experience handling vessel reports independently.
- Graduate or higher diploma in Accountancy, Business or equivalent.
- Effective decision‑making, analysis and problem‑solving abilities.
- Strong collaboration, communication and teamwork skills.
