APAC IT Procurement Lead – Financial Institution

About the role

The client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking an APAC Technology Procurement Lead to own the end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle for technology products and services across the region. You will partner with technology, security, risk and business stakeholders to shape sourcing strategy, drive vendor performance and ensure compliant contracting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional procurement strategy for technology categories such as software licensing, cloud services, data/analytics platforms, cybersecurity, infrastructure, IT services and professional services.
• Manage the full procurement cycle: demand intake, requirement definition, RFx/auctions, evaluation, negotiation, award, contract execution and supplier onboarding.
• Lead cross‑functional sourcing and governance, aligning with security, compliance, vendor risk and enterprise architecture requirements.
• Define contracting standards, negotiation playbooks and commercial terms including pricing, SLAs/OLAs, warranties, audit rights, data/privacy clauses and termination provisions.
• Collaborate with Finance and business owners on budgets, forecasts and cost‑optimization initiatives such as consolidation, renegotiations and license optimization.
• Establish and monitor procurement KPIs and supplier performance metrics.
• Ensure all procurement activities meet internal controls, regulatory expectations and audit requirements.
• Support due‑diligence and vendor risk assessments with Security, Risk and Legal teams.
• Develop and mentor procurement analysts and sourcing specialists as needed.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in technology procurement, sourcing or vendor management, preferably within financial services, enterprise technology or consulting.
• Proven track record of running complex, multi‑stakeholder technology sourcing events and contract negotiations.
• Strong understanding of technology commercial models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, licensing, subscription, usage‑based pricing, professional services).
• Knowledge of procurement governance, risk management and contracting principles (SLAs, data protection, audit rights, indemnities).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior technical and business leaders.

Required skills

• Ariba or Coupa procurement platforms
• Advanced Excel and Business Intelligence tools for spend analysis
• Familiarity with SaaS, IaaS and PaaS models
