Assistant Executive Steward

About the role

The Assistant Executive Steward supports the stewarding team at a luxury hotel, ensuring efficient clean‑up, proper chemical management, and smooth banquet operations. This position works closely with cooks, kitchen staff, and management to maintain high standards of hygiene and guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and assist stewards to make clean‑up more efficient and ensure water temperature and chemical levels are appropriate and documented.
• Assist with banquet plate‑ups, support buffet and banquet stock, and transport needed items.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including dish‑washing machines, hand‑wash stations, pot‑scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
• Provide cooks and kitchen staff with required items and return cleaned items to proper locations.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating employees.
• Follow all company safety and security policies, report accidents, and complete required safety training.
• Maintain a clean, professional uniform and appearance while upholding confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, and communicate clearly and professionally.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of related work experience in stewarding or food‑and‑beverage operations.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
