Assistant Tax Manager

About the role

The Assistant Tax Manager will support the Group’s global tax strategy, providing planning, advisory and compliance services across multiple jurisdictions. This role works closely with treasury, M&A, and external advisors to ensure tax‑efficient structures for the company’s expansion and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead group‑wide tax planning and advisory initiatives to support global business growth.
• Advise on corporate and entity structuring, transfer pricing, and cash repatriation from a tax perspective.
• Oversee tax registrations (VAT, GST, corporate tax) for newly incorporated entities worldwide.
• Partner with treasury to design tax‑efficient cross‑border loan, capital injection and debt‑equity structures.
• Provide tax due diligence for M&A, joint ventures and new investments.
• Coordinate with Big 4 firms and local tax authorities on complex inquiries and filings.
• Monitor changes in Hong Kong and international tax regulations (e.g., BEPS 2.0, Pillar Two, CFC rules) and assess impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or related field.
• Professional CPA or equivalent tax qualification.
• 4–6 years of corporate tax experience, primarily from a Big 4 accounting firm.
• Experience in financial services, securities/brokerage or FinTech is a plus.
• Fluent in English and Putonghua (Mandarin) with strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced global environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of international tax laws and regulations.
• Experience with VAT/GST registrations and transfer pricing rules.
• Familiarity with cross‑border tax treaty networks and transactional tax advisory.
