Assistant Vice President, Compute Platform and Database

About the role

The Assistant Vice President, Compute Platform and Database will lead the design, deployment and maintenance of our virtualised server infrastructure. This senior position ensures that our Windows Server environments and enterprise hardware operate securely, reliably and at high performance to support critical banking services.

Key responsibilities

• Administer VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, virtual machines, templates, clusters and resource pools.
• Support VMware technologies such as Aria, NSX, vSAN, HCX and backup/recovery solutions.
• Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot Windows Server platforms on both physical and virtual servers.
• Perform server provisioning, patching, firmware and OS upgrades, and manage the full lifecycle of server assets.
• Manage Huawei, HP and Dell rack and blade server hardware, including storage and related management tools.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure incidents, performance degradations and service outages within SLA targets.
• Coordinate with network, security, application and vendor teams for implementations and problem resolution.
• Maintain accurate documentation, operational procedures and technical records.
• Participate in change management, root‑cause analysis and disaster‑recovery testing.
• Provide on‑call or after‑hours support as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in server engineering, virtualization and Windows Server administration.
• Hands‑on experience with VMware enterprise support and data‑center hardware platforms.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet SLA commitments.
