Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join Mox’s fast‑growing technology team in Hong Kong. You will help build a virtual bank from the ground up using cloud‑native technologies and deliver high‑quality, scalable services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop greenfield features and continuously improve existing systems.
• Build RESTful APIs and event‑driven microservices, leveraging Kafka for messaging.
• Containerise services with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes.
• Write clean, maintainable code using test‑driven development (TDD).
• Work with PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora and S3 for data persistence.
• Utilise AWS infrastructure and implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Own the full lifecycle: you build it, you run it.

Required profile

• Fluent in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Strong experience in backend development and CI/CD processes.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services.
• Quick learner with an ambitious, results‑driven attitude.
• Effective team player in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
