Client Full-Stack Engineer – IM Chat Platform (Android Focus)

About the role

Binance is looking for a Client Full-Stack Engineer to build and maintain the Android client of its instant messaging platform. You will work on real‑time chat features, ensure a seamless cross‑device experience, and collaborate with backend and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Android client‑side applications using Kotlin/Java.
• Implement core messaging capabilities such as real‑time chat, group chat, media messaging, offline sync, and push notifications.
• Participate in cross‑platform architecture design to keep UX consistent across Android, iOS, and Web.
• Use AI‑powered tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to read, debug, and modify iOS/Web codebases when needed.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and real‑time protocols (WebSocket, MQTT, gRPC).
• Handle local storage, offline‑first experience, and cross‑platform state synchronization.
• Optimize app performance for startup speed, memory usage, battery consumption, and network efficiency.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API design and production issue resolution.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical design decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 1‑5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong understanding of Android SDK, Jetpack components, asynchronous programming, and modern client‑side architecture.
• Ability to use AI‑assisted development tools for cross‑stack work.
• Experience reading and debugging iOS or Web codebases.
• Familiarity with real‑time communication protocols (WebSocket, MQTT, gRPC).
• Good debugging, problem‑solving, ownership, and communication skills.
