Commis / Demi Chef – Cold Section

About the role

The Foreign Correspondents’ Club in Hong Kong is seeking a motivated Commis or Demi Chef to work in the Cold Section of its kitchen. You will support daily production, ensure food quality, and help maintain a clean, efficient workspace.

Key responsibilities

• Follow up daily operation production and monitor food temperatures and presentation.
• Implement controls to minimise food and supplies wastage.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen at all times.
• Operate all kitchen equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Keep clear inventory records in line with hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in hotel, club or hospitality settings.
• Self‑motivated, dependable and detail‑oriented.
• Willing to work flexible hours in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong team player with good communication skills in English and Chinese.

Required skills

• Familiarity with all kitchen equipment and safe operation.
• Ability to check food temperatures and ensure proper presentation.
• Competence in maintaining accurate inventory records.
