Contract Architectural Assistant (CAA)

About the role

The Contract Architectural Assistant will support the Contract Architect in overseeing architectural works on public‑sector projects, including residential finishes, communal areas, curtain walls and modular construction (MiC). The role involves on‑site supervision, factory visits and comprehensive document control.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Contract Architect with resident supervision, drawing coordination and document control for residential, communal and curtain‑wall works.
• Accompany the architect on overseas MiC factory visits to measure modules, record defects, photograph works and draft test records and audit reports.
• Manage filing, version control, scanning and archiving of full architectural drawing sets; produce coordination sketches and mock‑up details.
• Administer documentation for materials, finishes, curtain walls and MiC mock‑ups, tracking submissions and acceptance records.
• Prepare method statements, test logs, inspection diaries, progress data and snag lists for site and factory.
• Attend coordination meetings, take minutes, circulate records and follow up on action items.
• Support waterproofing, airtightness and curtain‑wall testing, filing certificates and material mill certificates.
• Track variation orders, update subcontractor drawing schedules and compile as‑built drawings for handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Higher Diploma in Architecture from a recognised Hong Kong institute.
• Minimum 2 years post‑qualification experience as an architectural assistant on Hong Kong government or public‑housing projects.
• Experience with MiC factory inspection is highly preferred.
• Fluent Cantonese and strong written English; Level 2 Chinese & English in HKDSE.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit Architecture.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
