Data Center Facilities Manager – DCS

About the role

The Global Data Center Operations team at ByteDance is looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee the reliable and sustainable operation of hyperscale data center infrastructure. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of colocation data center projects, from construction through ongoing operations, ensuring stability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in planning and construction of colocation data center projects, track progress, manage communication and anticipate operational risks.
• Lead testing, acceptance, and takeover of infrastructure, ensuring smooth project delivery.
• Operate and optimize colocation data center facilities, maintaining stability and performance.
• Own end‑to‑end change management for high‑risk maintenance activities to avoid service interruptions.
• Moderate data center operations, report events, and handle fault tracking to enhance service capabilities.
• Maintain partnerships with vendors, internal teams and stakeholders for seamless facility delivery.
• Conduct audits and performance reviews of provider maintenance programs and drive improvements.
• Supervise construction teams during data hall fit‑outs, coordinating IT services, power and cooling deployments.

Required profile

• Diploma or professional certification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 5 years of data center facility operations experience.
• Proven experience designing and implementing power redundancy (2N, N+1) in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of cooling redundancy strategies (N+1, N+2) and concurrent maintainability.
• Hands‑on experience with generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, UPS and electrical sub‑distribution.
• Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to documentation.
