Data Architect

About the role

Octopus, a leading FinTech company in Hong Kong, is looking for a senior Data Architect to design and evolve its analytics data platform. The role will drive the creation of secure, scalable data solutions that support reporting, AI, and business automation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain a scalable, secure analytics data architecture for reporting, AI and business operations.
• Develop automation solutions using AI, generative AI, cloud services, APIs and workflow orchestration.
• Build and operate data pipelines and integrations with internal and external data sources.
• Define and enforce data architecture standards, data models and best practices.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies to continuously improve the data ecosystem.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver innovative data solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering or solution architecture.
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.

Required skills

• Azure data and analytics services: Data Factory, Databricks, Unity Catalog, Synapse, Fabric, Azure Functions, APIs, Storage, Power BI.
• Programming: Python (including PySpark and Pandas) and SQL.
