Deputy IT Manager / System Administrator

About the role

The bank is seeking a Deputy IT Manager / System Administrator to ensure the stability, security, and performance of its critical IT infrastructure. You will work closely with the IT team to design, implement, and maintain high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions across a diverse technology landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage server operating systems, middleware, SAN storage, virtualization platforms, and backup solutions.
• Design, implement, and sustain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architectures.
• Monitor system performance and capacity, troubleshoot incidents, and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Implement baseline configurations, security settings, and develop automation scripts (Python, Shell).
• Define backup strategies, verify backup integrity, and maintain related policies and procedures.
• Participate in daily project planning, implementation, and provide technology optimisation recommendations.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; relevant technical certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience with at least one listed technology.
• Strong written and verbal communication in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is advantageous.
• Meticulous, able to follow bank policies and work under pressure.
