Desktop Support Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Desktop Support Specialist to deliver fast, professional deskside IT support to our clients. You will work on‑site to analyse, diagnose and resolve desktop issues, ensuring high service levels and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Provide deskside IT support and resolve desktop problems on‑site.
• Install, configure, test, maintain and troubleshoot workstations, mobile devices and related hardware/software.
• Use the ticket management system to record, update and close Helpdesk tickets.
• Collaborate with global support groups to troubleshoot client issues.
• Utilise tools for building, monitoring and troubleshooting client devices.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing exercises.
• Uphold procedures for logging, reporting and monitoring desktop operations.
• Write technical support and client documentation as Knowledgebase articles.
• Meet or exceed expected customer service levels.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Desktop Support or IT Helpdesk role.
• Proven experience supporting clients in a financial environment.
• Strong communication, time‑management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team under pressure.

Required skills

• Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows 11 and macOS support.
• Hardware troubleshooting for printers, PCs and laptops.
• VPN, Soft Phones, Remote Desktop and VDI.
• Asset tracking / inventory management.
• Phone and tablet support (Windows, iPhone, iOS, Android).
• ServiceNow ticketing system.
