Director of Engineering

About the role

The Director of Engineering provides high‑level property maintenance expertise and holds overall responsibility for the building, grounds, and physical plant. The role focuses on safety, security, asset protection, budget management, capital projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering operations, budgets and controllable expenses such as utilities, wages, and supplies.
• Oversee the physical plant, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems in line with SOPs.
• Administer service contracts, ensure fire‑crew readiness, and lead emergency response for facility issues.
• Develop and execute long‑term preventative maintenance and 10‑year asset protection plans.
• Supervise construction projects to ensure timely, on‑budget completion and compliance with regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma/GED with 6 years engineering/maintenance experience, or a 2‑year degree in Building & Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, etc., with 4 years experience.
• Technical training in HVAC‑R, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
