Duty Engineer – Hotel Maintenance (Wan Chai, HK)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Duty Engineer to join our hotel’s facilities team in Wan Chai. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will ensure that all guest rooms, public areas and service zones are maintained to the highest standards, handling both routine and emergency repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Engineer in supervising daily repair and maintenance activities across guest rooms, public spaces and external areas.
• Perform emergency repairs on building and technical equipment to keep them operational.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments and external contractors to schedule and complete work.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Required profile

• Relevant diploma or certificates in a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a hotel or comparable industry.
• Holder of an Electrical Worker License Grade A (or higher) and a Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate.
• Willingness to work shift patterns as required.
• Good command of written English and Chinese.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems.
• Proficiency with plumbing systems.
• Understanding of MVAC (mechanical ventilation and air‑conditioning) systems.
