Fashion Lab Technician (Guangzhou, 1-Year Contract)

About the role

Kiabi, a French off-the-peg fashion retailer, is hiring a Technician Fashion Lab through its Hong Kong trading office, International Trading Fashion & Apparel Services Limited. The role covers product technical integrity, fit standards and supplier quality across garment development and production, working with vendors, merchandising teams and third-party laboratories to ensure apparel meets performance, fit, regulatory and mechanical/chemical compliance standards before market release.

Key responsibilities

• Review tech packs, construction details and material specs during sample development and flag manufacturing, structural or material risks early
• Lead fit sessions, evaluate sample proportions, give grading advice and approve pre-production sample fits
• Oversee physical, mechanical and chemical testing (fiber composition, colorfastness, seam strength, REACH compliance), review test reports and coordinate corrective actions
• Run pre-production meetings with suppliers and factories, audit sealing/gold samples and perform final inspections where needed
• Assess supplier facilities for technical capability, machinery standards and quality management systems
• Liaise with testing labs and compliance bodies, support social compliance initiatives and track defect rates and returns to run CAPA plans

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Technical, Textile & Clothing or a related discipline
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in garment technical development, fit evaluation or QA in an apparel sourcing office, buying house or manufacturer
• Business-level English fluency
• Experience in fast-fashion and quick-response models is preferred
