Head of Structured Trade – Global Transaction Banking (APAC)

About the role

The Head of Structured Trade, Asia Pacific, is responsible for driving growth and delivering structured trade finance solutions to corporate clients across the region. This senior position leads the origination, structuring and execution of complex trade transactions, including export pre‑payments, borrowing‑base facilities and inventory financing, while collaborating closely with corporate sales, coverage bankers and global product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and lead a high‑performing Structured Trade Finance team with clear quantitative and qualitative objectives.
• Define and execute the regional strategy to expand the structured trade business across Asia Pacific.
• Lead the full transaction lifecycle – client pitching, deal origination, structuring, execution and implementation.
• Develop client presentations, prepare credit applications and negotiate legal documentation.
• Drive commercial activity by managing the deal pipeline and identifying new opportunities.
• Conduct working‑capital analysis to propose tailored financing solutions.
• Collaborate with coverage, global product, risk, legal, middle‑office and operations teams to ensure seamless deal execution.
• Contribute to product innovation, framework enhancements and required infrastructure.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in structured trade finance within international banks.
• At least 2 years in a leadership role with regional exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Strong expertise in commodities financing and an established industry network.
• Proven ability in working‑capital analysis and structuring solutions aligned with client commercial activities and risk appetite.
• Excellent communication and pitching skills; fluency in English, Mandarin a plus.
