Internal Audit Lead – Finance & Operations

About the role

Bitget is seeking an experienced Internal Audit Lead to head the Finance & Operations audit pillar. You will shape audit strategy, oversee risk‑based planning, and ensure robust controls across financial reporting, treasury, and core exchange operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define the pillar’s audit strategy and develop a risk‑based annual plan aligned with the group audit universe.
• Lead, execute, and quality‑review audit engagements end‑to‑end, following IIA standards, especially complex or sensitive reviews.
• Assess financial‑reporting controls, close processes, treasury, cash management, and key reconciliations.
• Audit exchange and corporate operations, including Proof of Reserves, custody reconciliation, listing, trading engine, liquidation, mark‑price governance, procurement, vendor risk, and payroll.
• Present risk‑ranked findings and thematic insights to senior management and track remediation to closure.
• Coach, develop, and set technical standards for the audit team while maintaining independence.

Required profile

• 10+ years of internal or external audit experience covering financial and operational areas, preferably in banking, a Big 4 firm, or a regulated financial‑services organization.
• Professional certification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of financial‑reporting controls, treasury/reconciliation processes, and operational risk.
• Proven ability to challenge senior management and present findings to executives or audit committees.
• Experience in a crypto exchange, custodian, brokerage or familiarity with Proof of Reserves and liquidation mechanics.
• Strong command of both English and Chinese.
