Junior Data Scientist – Fresh Graduate Friendly

About the role

Lane Crawford is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to join its analytics team. This entry‑level position is open to fresh graduates who are eager to apply machine learning and statistical techniques to real‑world retail challenges and help drive data‑informed decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Mine, manipulate and analyse multiple data sets to build scalable enterprise analytics solutions.
• Select features, build and optimise classifiers using a variety of machine learning techniques.
• Apply advanced statistical and machine learning methods to maintain and improve real‑time decision systems.
• Generate and validate hypotheses using A/B and multivariate testing to assess campaign and retail initiative impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Econometrics or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Basic knowledge of Python or SQL for data manipulation and insight extraction.
• Familiarity with statistical concepts such as distributions, hypothesis testing and linear regression.
