Junior Façade Engineer

About the role

Inhabit, a specialist consultancy focused on the design and advancement of the built environment, is hiring a Junior Engineer in Hong Kong. The role supports the design and engineering of façades for building projects in Hong Kong and across Asia, working alongside senior engineers and Associates.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the design and engineering of façades for building projects in Hong Kong and across Asia.
• Carry out engineering calculations and basic structural analysis under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Help prepare calculation reports, drawings and technical documentation.
• Support the review of shop drawings, material submissions and contractor-provided calculations.
• Take part in site and factory inspections of façade fabrication and installation, and in design meetings.
• Maintain daily communication with Associates and team members to keep projects aligned.
• Build knowledge of façade systems, materials, construction methods and local codes and standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of relevant engineering or construction experience are welcome.
• Basic understanding of structural engineering principles and an interest in façade engineering and building design.
• Strong written and spoken English and Cantonese, good analytical and problem-solving skills, proactive and team-oriented.
• Preferred: previous internship or project experience in façade, structural or building engineering, knowledge of Hong Kong building regulations, and proficiency in Mandarin.

Required skills

• Basic AutoCAD proficiency and familiarity with engineering software.
• Preferred: Finite Element Analysis software such as Strand7 or SAP2000, and familiarity with structural engineering calculations.
