Legal Counsel – Global Markets & Wealth Management

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team. The role focuses on providing proactive, commercial‑mindset legal support to our Global Markets, Equity Derivative, Brokerage and Wealth Management businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Provide solution‑oriented legal advice to the listed business units.
• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts, agreements and other documentation.
• Identify legal and regulatory risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with external counsel to obtain specialist opinions and ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including compliance, risk and operations—to align on legal matters.
• Support the Head of Legal & Compliance on ad‑hoc projects, policy development and other duties.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent and qualified to practice law in Hong Kong.
• 7‑10 years post‑qualification experience in a reputable law firm or in‑house within financial services.
• Experience with securities firms, brokerage houses or asset‑management companies; exposure to Chinese financial institutions is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin.
• Strong knowledge of equities, derivatives, wealth‑management products and related regulatory frameworks.
