Logistics Manager – Freight & Ocean Freight

About the role

A Hong Kong-based recruiter is hiring a Logistics Manager for a global plastic recycling business with three divisions: Plastic Recycling, Recycled Supply Chain Management and Recycled & Waste Plastic Feedstock. The company has been active since 2005, serves customers in over 50 countries and operates a UK factory for collecting and recycling industrial plastic waste. The Logistics Manager acts as a key partner to the commercial teams, creating logistics solutions that help profitable deals happen.

Key responsibilities

• Secure the most competitive freight rates across global routes
• Manage relationships with shipping lines, forwarders, hauliers and warehouses
• Support shipments across North America, South America, Turkey, Australia and Asia
• Solve urgent logistics issues quickly and commercially
• Improve margins through smarter freight buying and routing
• Provide market updates on freight trends, risks and opportunities
• Coordinate bookings, documentation and delivery performance
• Work closely with traders, suppliers and customers globally
• Help improve systems, processes and ways of working

Required profile

• Fluent in English and Mandarin or Cantonese
• Strong communicator who can build relationships globally
• Commercially minded and cost-aware
• Calm under pressure, highly organised and an excellent problem solver
• Comfortable challenging suppliers and negotiating rates
• Detail-oriented but able to see the bigger picture
• Adaptable across time zones and changing priorities
