Mobile Engineer – AI‑Powered Finance App

About the role

BJAK is building an AI‑driven Neobank app that combines insurance, payments, investing and travel services. As a Mobile Engineer you will create clean, reliable Android experiences for millions of users across Southeast Asia, working remotely from Hong Kong.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Create end‑to‑end mobile flows for insurance, payments, claims, renewals and broader financial services.
• Integrate backend REST APIs, ensure stability, security and reliability of mobile interactions.
• Improve app performance, crash rates, loading states, responsiveness and memory usage.
• Leverage analytics, user behaviour and production issues to continuously refine the product.
• Build AI‑assisted experiences with on‑device TensorFlow Lite where they add genuine user value.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin.
• Strong fundamentals in Android architecture, Jetpack, Coroutines and Flow.
• Solid understanding of mobile UX, edge‑case handling and performance optimisation.
• Ability to work fast, take ownership and deliver high‑quality production code.
• Honest about personal contributions and comfortable collaborating in a startup environment.
