Principal Consultant – Technology (IT Procurement)

About the role

As a Principal Consultant in Proxima’s IT and Technology practice, you will join client‑facing teams delivering high‑impact commercial, sourcing and supplier initiatives within IT procurement. You will develop insights, design solutions and drive measurable change for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery across multiple client engagements and lead global teams.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies, category management and sourcing activities.
• Identify opportunities, conduct supplier research and perform commercial analysis.
• Build structured fact bases and turn data into clear insights.
• Analyse data using Excel and other techniques to uncover value, risk and performance improvement opportunities.
• Track benefits, monitor delivery milestones and ensure analyses are accurate and decision‑oriented.
• Engage with client stakeholders to gather requirements, align objectives and communicate findings.
• Facilitate workshops, working sessions and day‑to‑day client interactions.
• Operate in a hybrid environment, balancing client, home and office work, and travel as required.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in global IT procurement with strong indirect procurement knowledge.
• Subject‑matter expertise in enterprise software, IT services and/or cloud hosting.
• Experience managing spend profiles exceeding $50 M annually.
• Consulting mindset with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proactive, ownership‑oriented approach and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, delivery‑focused environment.
• Flexibility, curiosity, adaptability and a desire to build a long‑term consulting career.
• Willingness to travel as required.
