Project Director - Data Center

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries, is hiring a Project Director for data center projects in Hong Kong. The role leads multidisciplinary project teams, manages project strategy, controls, procurement and finances, and acts as the main point of contact for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and develop junior project managers and team members, and foster an inclusive, accountable team culture.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams including clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers, and act as the primary client contact.
• Define the project execution strategy, KPIs and governance frameworks for quality, safety, compliance, risk and environmental management.
• Drive project controls for schedule, cost, risk and change management, and prepare executive-level reporting and dashboards.
• Manage end-to-end procurement, from tender strategy to vendor selection, and build strong partnerships with consultants and vendors.
• Monitor budgets and financial performance, manage variations, support commercial negotiations and contract administration, and handle invoicing in D-365.
• Conduct regular site inspections, manage permitting and statutory submissions, and resolve construction issues with contractors and consultants.
• Contribute to business development, including proposal writing, client presentations and market engagement.
• Plan resources across projects, forecast needs, address skill gaps and capture lessons learned.

Required profile

• Construction-related degree (e.g. Project Management, Construction Management, Design, Engineering) or equivalent.
• At least 10 years' experience in project management or data center construction projects.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with experience in people management.
• Business acumen and experience in client-facing environments, including value management, value engineering and life cycle costing.
• Native-level proficiency in the local language and business-level English.
