Public Area Supervisor – Hotel

About the role

The Public Area Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of all public spaces within Eaton Hong Kong, a boutique hotel and cultural hub. The role involves leading a team of cleaners, coordinating deep‑cleaning schedules, and ensuring compliance with hotel standards and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure the cleanliness of all public areas, including front‑of‑house, back‑of‑house, offices and public toilets.
• Manage, train and develop the public‑area cleaning team, including scheduling overnight and deep‑cleaning tasks such as marble polishing and carpet shampooing.
• Implement lost‑property procedures and report maintenance issues to the Engineering department.
• Conduct regular patrols, perform preventative maintenance on cleaning equipment, and ensure adherence to fire, security and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Handle guest interactions professionally, following hotel policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Form 6 (or equivalent) education or higher.
• Minimum 1 year of housekeeping supervisory experience in a hotel of similar size and complexity.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities, with a team‑player attitude.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.

Required skills

• Operation of cleaning machines and equipment.
• Knowledge of appropriate cleaning chemicals and their safe use.
