Risk Manager – Hong Kong Branch

About the role

The Risk Manager will support the Head of Risk in overseeing operational, market, liquidity, and credit portfolio risks for the Hong Kong branch of Hong Leong Bank. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust risk controls and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and enhance the integrated risk management framework, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and implement internal controls to minimise overall risk exposure.
• Conduct regular operational risk reviews and validations across business units, providing actionable recommendations.
• Monitor risk limits, thresholds and ratios, and report material risks with mitigation strategies.
• Prepare high‑quality presentation materials for management meetings and execute ad‑hoc projects.
• Liaise with frontline units and Head Office to ensure timely implementation of risk controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Statistics, Quantitative Analysis or related field.
• Professional qualifications such as FRM and/or CFA are an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of risk management experience in the banking industry.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with a high level of integrity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
