Senior Clerk of Works – Construction Inspection

About the role

China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited is seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to oversee construction projects across Hong Kong. The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive site inspections, material acceptance control, and accurate record‑keeping. This senior position plays a key role in ensuring quality and compliance on a variety of building and civil engineering works.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out full inspection of architectural, structural, finishing, curtain wall, drainage, roofing, external and landscape works.
• Perform material acceptance control, checking delivered materials and samples against approved submissions.
• Maintain complete and up‑to‑date site records, including site diaries, inspection records and progress photographs.
• Coordinate and attend handover inspections and defect inspections with relevant parties.

Required profile

• Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building / Building Studies from a recognised Hong Kong institution, or equivalent.
• Level 2 / Grade E or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKCEE, or equivalent (Grade E in Syllabus B under the pre‑2007 HKCEE syllabus is accepted).
• Minimum 10 years of total site experience, with at least 6 years of post‑qualification experience as a Clerk of Works.
• Completed the mandatory safety training courses: Occupational Safety and Health Management Course, Basic Accident Prevention Course, Construction Industry Safety Card Course (Green Card), Certified Worker Training Course for Confined Spaces.
