Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design, verification and validation of new handheld telecommunications products. The role involves collaborating with the Mechanical Manager and cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet technical and production requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies of industrial design (ID) and mechanical concepts.
• Perform mechanical design or coordinate with suppliers.
• Generate and maintain 3D and 2D CAD files.
• Plan and execute mechanical verification and validation activities.
• Create and maintain design documentation, including mechanical BOMs, drawings and instructions.
• Release design material for production and support onsite/offsite production teams.
• Act as project manager for development projects when assigned.
• Provide technical input and feasibility studies for PRS and new project opportunities.
• Share information with teammates and other departments.
• Mentor junior staff and support training on technology and tools.
• Follow the 2‑hour rule and report to the engineering manager.
• Assist with additional R&D tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Strong communication in English and Putonghua.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using Pro‑E and AutoCAD.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical design for handheld devices.
• Leadership ability to drive projects to timely completion.
• Proactive, result‑oriented, outgoing and positive attitude.
• Strong technical problem‑solving capabilities.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience in the telecommunications industry.
