Senior System Administrator – In-House – APAC Role

About the role

This newly created senior system administrator position offers regional exposure within a globally listed organization generating $6B in revenue. The role is based in the APAC region and provides long‑term stability as part of a high‑caliber IT team.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design and roadmap for on‑premises infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, networking, backup and disaster recovery.
• Evaluate, pilot and introduce new technologies to improve availability, performance and efficiency.
• Establish and enforce design standards, security baselines, hardening and monitoring practices.
• Provide expert administration and troubleshooting for Windows Server, Linux (RHEL), VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, enterprise storage, backup solutions and directory services (Active Directory, ADFS, identity federation).
• Lead incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, capacity planning, performance tuning and lifecycle management.
• Define and test robust backup, restore and DR strategies.
• Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Python or Bash and promote Infrastructure as Code with Ansible and Terraform.
• Act as technical leader, mentor senior administrators and participate in architecture and change advisory boards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of system administration or infrastructure engineering experience, including senior or lead roles.
• Proven track record designing, implementing and operating mid‑ to large‑scale enterprise infrastructure.
