Software Engineer – Tooling

About the role

The Live Trading, Analysis & Tooling team builds the platforms that enable traders and researchers at IMC to develop, run and analyse strategies at scale. As a Software Engineer – Tooling you will create and evolve the tools and infrastructure that power strategy orchestration, data exploration and risk analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement tooling that lets traders deploy and manage multiple strategies across the firm’s product suite.
• Develop data‑exploration infrastructure to make large volumes of market data quickly searchable and visualisable.
• Collaborate with quant researchers and traders to model risk, analyse trade performance and surface new opportunities.
• Iterate rapidly with short feedback loops, delivering prototypes, scaling successful solutions and retiring ineffective ones.

Required profile

• Enjoys solving problems where the specification does not yet exist and can define what to build.
• Comfortable switching between programming languages and choosing the best tool for the task.
• Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders across the business and translate needs into technical solutions.
• Ability to pivot quickly, experiment, and scale proven ideas.
