Technical Support Engineer

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer will sit at the heart of mission‑critical trading and cloud infrastructure, providing first‑line assistance to global financial‑technology clients. You will work with cutting‑edge platforms, handling real‑time technical challenges while collaborating with senior teams.

Key responsibilities

• Log and resolve incidents via the call‑logging system (HP Service Centre, Remedy, Infra).
• Provide on‑site support for desktop, laptop, and mobile devices as needed.
• Escalate complex issues to third‑line support, external suppliers, or specialised teams.
• Monitor and update incident status, ensuring clear communication with customers.
• Participate in on‑call and out‑of‑hours rotations.
• Perform TCP/IP, LAN/WAN troubleshooting and maintain network connectivity.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of desktop support experience, preferably in a financial services environment.
• Degree‑level qualification or equivalent technical training.
• Ability to work under pressure and communicate technical information clearly.

Required skills

• HP Service Centre / Remedy / Infra call‑logging tools.
• Cisco Unified Call Manager.
• Bloomberg and Reuters platforms.
• MCP / MCITP certifications.
• Windows 7, MCDST, MCSA.
• ITIL v3 Foundation.
• Data‑centre operations experience.
• Apple products and mobile technologies.
• TCP/IP, LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
• Desktop/Laptop building and maintenance (HP/Dell).
