Assistant Manager, Health Business Development

About the role

Prudential Hong Kong's Assistant Manager, Health Business Development strengthens the company's health growth by enabling distribution success. The role builds trusted relationships with agents, acts as the first point of contact for health underwriting enquiries and raises agent capability through practical training on health selling and underwriting. It works closely with Distribution, Underwriting, Claims, Product and Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and sustain proactive relationships with agency leaders and key agents across channels, using briefings and roadshows to surface field pain points quickly.
• Produce practical selling aids such as objection-handling scripts, underwriting tips and FAQs, and feed field insights back to Product, Underwriting and Operations.
• Act as the primary contact for agents' health underwriting questions and coach pre-underwriting and case packaging to improve submission quality and straight-through rates.
• Build training modules on pre-underwriting preparation, run workshops, webinars and small-group coaching clinics, and track knowledge and tool adoption.

Required profile

• Solid track record in underwriting, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in life insurance underwriting.
• Professional qualification in Life Insurance, including FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute).
• University degree in any discipline.
• Excellent command of English and Chinese, written and spoken, including Putonghua.

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing.
