Gold and Precious Metals Options Trader

About the role

G-20 Group is a cross-asset trading firm headquartered in Switzerland, trading delta-one and derivatives markets globally. As a Gold and Precious Metals Options Trader, you will manage and optimise a discretionary precious metals options portfolio, working with traders, quantitative researchers and developers to improve pricing models, trading strategies and risk-adjusted returns. The role can be based in the Zurich, London, New York or Hong Kong office.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and refine options trading strategies across gold, silver, platinum and palladium.
• Analyse market microstructure, order flow and volatility dynamics (skew, term structure, implied vs realised volatility) to find trading opportunities.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts and developers to improve options pricing models, hedging algorithms and execution tools.
• Stay aware of central bank policy, real yields, US dollar strength, inflation data, central bank gold reserves and safe-haven demand.
• Execute trades in listed and OTC precious metals options, futures and spot markets with best execution and liquidity management.
• Manage portfolio Greeks (delta, gamma, vega, theta) and adjust hedges around macro data, central bank meetings and geopolitical events.
• Contribute to trading infrastructure, data pipelines and analytical frameworks, and monitor portfolio performance and risk metrics.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field from a top-tier university.
• Strong background in commodities/precious metals options trading, with experience in high-volatility assets and leveraged trading.
• Proven track record of consistent profits (PnL >$2m annually for more than 3 years).
• Experience with quantitative trading and data-driven decision making.
• Preferred: proprietary trading, market-making or hedge fund experience, familiarity with algorithmic execution, and proficiency in Python, Excel/VBA or SQL.
