Job description

About the role

G-20 Group is a cross-asset trading firm headquartered in Switzerland, trading delta-one and derivatives markets globally. As an Index Options Trader you will manage and optimise a discretionary index options portfolio, working with a team of traders, quantitative researchers and developers to improve pricing models, refine strategies and deliver superior risk-adjusted returns.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and refine index options strategies across major benchmark indices such as the S&P 500, Nasdaq 100, Russell 2000 or relevant regional indices.
  • Analyse market microstructure, order flow and volatility dynamics (skew, term structure, implied versus realised volatility) to find trading opportunities.
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts and developers to improve options pricing models, hedging algorithms and execution tools.
  • Stay aware of macroeconomic events, central bank policy and geopolitical developments affecting index levels and volatility.
  • Execute trades in listed index options and related futures with precision, managing liquidity and ensuring best execution.
  • Manage portfolio Greeks (delta, gamma, vega, theta) and adjust hedges dynamically, especially around key events and expiries.
  • Contribute to improving trading infrastructure, data pipelines and analytical frameworks, and monitor portfolio performance and risk metrics.

Required profile

  • Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field from a top-tier university.
  • Strong background in options trading, with a solid understanding of options pricing theory, volatility trading and relevant strategies; experience in high-volatility assets and leveraged trading is essential.
  • Proven track record of consistent profits (PnL greater than $2m annually for more than 3 years, increasing with experience).
  • Experience with quantitative trading and applying data analysis to trading decisions.
  • Preferred: proprietary trading, market-making or hedge fund experience, familiarity with automated and algorithmic execution, and proficiency in Python, Excel/VBA or SQL.
  • Only candidates with pre-existing right to work in Zurich, London, New York or Hong Kong without company sponsorship should apply.
